Scott Blake to present tech paper at CAMX 2020

CAMX 2020

Innovative technologies that allow composites fabricators to implement Industry 4.0 will be featured by Aligned Vision at this year’s Virtual CAMX. “Digital manufacturing technologies will soon be essential to composites fabricators,” says Scott Blake, Aligned Vision president. “Our smart manufacturing solutions offer our customers out-of-the-box benefits immediately and serve as building blocks for the fully-integrated digital factory of the future.”

Known for its pioneering work with its LASERGUIDE laser templating solution for composite layup, the company is also the first to bring large-field automatic inspection to composites fabrication. LASERVISION, which combines Aligned Vision’s best-in-class laser templating with automatic inspection technology, verifies (or flags) material position, fiber orientation and FOD, including peel ply FOD in bonding applications.

LASERVISION is now enabled by Artificial Intelligence, employing Machine Learning for application development and providing Deep Learning data to smart manufacturing systems. Explaining the opportunities now available due to recent digital manufacturing technology developments, Scott Blake will present his CAMX technical paper, “Using Digital Technology in Composites Fabrication to Create a Comprehensive As-built Digital Twin” during Virtual CAMX, September 21 to 24, 2020.

Aligned Vision guidance and inspection solutions can be integrated into any production work cell with the company’s Software Development Kit (SDK). Aligned Vision has also advanced fabrication process control with its BUILDGUIDE system, which replaces paper travelers and work instructions with Android remotes. BUILDGUIDE provides graphic step-by-step guidance for both layup and non-layup tasks.
